Chococo is an adorable chocolate shop in Exeter's famous Gandy street (the one that apparently inspired Diagon Alley!). I had previously avoided it; presuming a chocolate shop would not have anything to offer a vegan. However, when my friends and I nipped in to recover from the cold, I was happily surprised.
Chococo, as well as selling chocolate in box and bar form, they also have a highly popular hot chocolate bar with a wide selection of unique origin hot chocolates. This allows you to pick the perfect hot chocolate for you in regards to sweetness, richness, and as they offer several milk options, the flavour of milk.
With every mug of hot chocolate comes a small bite piece of hand-crafted chocolate. Most options are milk chocolate, as to be expected, however, there were one or two made with dark chocolate and where thus vegan-friendly.
Chococo is a really sweet, bright, family-friendly shop which is quickly gaining recognition. Chococo is a Top Ten Independents 2017 Finalist and has three stores across Swanage, Winchester and Exeter.
I would recommend popping in when you are doing your Christmas shopping and need somewhere special to hide from the cold!
